Yeahhhh I get my computer back today, I've been without it a whole week and felt like I'm missing a part of my body. I gave up trying to post and review off my iPad. I've got lots of reviews coming up. 2 new debut authors coming up Nadine Christian with her book Remembering Love, and Gina Whitney with her debut book Blood Ties. Also coming up next week my reviews of Michelle Leighton Until I Break, and Quinn Loftis's New book Call Me Crazy. I also have the new Sylvia Day book Entwined with You to read I can't wait, but I'm a bit of a nerd cos I will have to reread the first two again :-) 

Gabriel by Tina Pollick

Synopsis

When demons sunder ancient bonds, a love-match between a valiant archangel and a selfless nurse brings humanity's last hope -- but demon-taint may destroy them both.

 

The prison the archangels have guarded, housed deep within the earth is destroyed, releasing Kematians (demons) to feed upon humanity. The angels are losing the battle again as the Kematians ability to regenerate hampers the angel’s ability to destroy them. Gabriel is stabbed by an Angel Killing Sword; he’s accepted his fate that he will die; only to be revived by Calla’s ability to heal.

 

Calla Stevens, RN, tries to find who or what is killing the victims that are coming into the ER, only to be infected herself when she comes face-to-face with the Kematians. Calla has saved Gabriel once, is she’s willing to trade her life for his this time?

 

Archangel Gabriel struggles with new emotions as he discovers Calla is his soul mate. He strives to defend humanity, with the assistance of his brother Archangel Michael and new human friends. Gabriel will have to choose whether he will live or die when his future with Calla is destroyed.

My Review
Debut book

This is a fantastic first book by Tina Pollick.

This story is about Calla Stevens a nurse who works in the ER. After finishing work one night, Calla is told by her friend Eric to call a cab home after all the murder victims they have seen come into the ER this week. Calla decides as she only lives a few blocks away she will walk. As she is walking down an alley way she sees a man laying on the ground with blood around him. Calla bends down to help use her special healing gifts on him, she first has to remove the knife that's in his body, when this is done she collapses on top of him exhausted after using her gifts. 

Gabriel is The Angel Gabriel who with his brother angels have spent hundreds of years watching over the Kematian Demons in a cave. After they escape and start to kill humans Gabriel and his brothers split up and try to find them. After finding one Gabriel is stabbed with a special knife that can kill him, and he lays dying in an alleyway.

Calla and Gabriel fall in love and have many obstacles in there way. After Calla is bitten by a Kematian the race is on to find a cure so they call on the help of one of Callas friends who has secrets of his own.

I loved this story and the characters I think Tina did a great job. The pace and flow was just right. I loved the strong characters. I am looking forward to more by Tina Pollick.

Author Interview

Where did you get your idea from for your Debut book?

They usually start off with a series of 'what if?' questions.

What was the biggest challenge you faced writing your book? 

The first one was exactly that. I hadn’t ever written a book before so I didn’t know what to expect. I’m on my third so it’s getting a little easier.

 

Who is your favourite character and why? 

Hmmm, good question. I think I’m partial to the women in my stories. All of my female characters are strong and have a smart mouth on them. I like women who tell it like it is and don’t take any crap. *laughs*

 

 Who was your favourite Author when you were little?

*Ducks* I didn’t like to read when I was little. I really hated reading. Now I’m torn between reading and writing.

 

 What helps get you into the zone when you’re writing? 

I used to like it to be quiet until I realized I can’t write when it’s quiet. *laughs* I need noise so I write best when the house is full of kids or I can add some background noise, like the tv or music.

 

What's next? 

I have my first co-written paranormal romance, Shadow of Hope, coming out July 1st and I have the first in a paranormal romance trilogy, Soul Broker, coming out in August.

Professional- I’m working on a YA series I’m writing for my 13-year-old daughter. It won’t be done until maybe fall as I have other books with deadlines.

Personal- I love to go to the movies alone. I don’t know why, but there’s something about getting lost in a great story and it’s hard to do when you’re with someone else. J
