My Review

I received this book for an honest review by the author.

In this part of the story we see Kat in danger. We find out a bit of the directorate, the vodkas, and who is connected to Ionescu. Kat is taken to the towers by Char to be protected and meets the Dar, who krafts Kat a rune necklace to help protect her. While at the towers Kat has a few visitors, Anton and John Falcon. John is part of the directorate can they trust him? Kat is then moved for her safety to Anton home and there she meets someone she feels connected to.


I enjoyed this story I like the pace even at times it was a bit slow. I feel that it would of been better as one book, I feel that I just got into it and it stopped, even though it stopped at the write places that kept you hanging on for more. I do feel there a lot this story has to offer but think for me I'm not sure about the length of them. I would like to read books 4/5 though cos I'm interested to see what happens.
I did really like this story and if i had bought it i would of bought the full book not the novellas.

My Review

I received this book for an honest review.

So in this book we meet Kat who has recenlty moved to New York to start a new job. We meet her as she is house hunting, after finding nothing she notices in the window a ornate frame with strange writing on that she can understand. After speak to the girl in the office she move into her apartment, but doesnt see anyone around, even the balconys dont look like anyone lives there.

I jumped straight into this book after reading the first one. I was interested to see who the characters from the first book were and what Kat would face next. The character I was curious about Ionescu, the wolf, the new job, we dont hear anything of them in this book.

In this book its mainly about Kats new flat, the one person she meets who lives there Char, Dom the man she meets in the club, Kat notices things are a bit strange with char and the people who are at the club. It keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen next, so again the flow is a bit slow in parts but still keeps you guessing.

In this part of the story we meet Kat, who works in a laboratory. Kat starts to notice some strange things happening to her, she starts feeling sick and goes off her food, she heals really quick, so she does a blood test on her self, and notices some weird goings on with her blood.

I wasn't sure about this when I read the synopsis, and wasn't sure about the cover. But I was wrong about both. I am intrigued by the characters, kat what is her story is she a supernatural creature? Who is the girl in chains? And Ionescu who is he? And what does the wolf have to do with it all.

The pace was a bit slow to start, but once it got going,it settled to the right pace. This is in three parts and I can't wait to read the next one to see was beholds Kat, and who is her father ?

About the Author  



Adina West grew up on a remote property on Australia’s east coast, in country New South Wales. She spent most of her childhood curled up with a book, and her first teenage job was shelving books at the local library, where she was cautioned more than once for reading them instead of putting them away.
Her first stories were laboriously typed up with two fingers on her parents’ old typewriter. Her dream of one day being a published writer progressed much faster after she learned to touch type and switched to a computer.
Now, Adina lives in Sydney’s leafy north-west with her IT guru husband, two children, and a couple of unwelcome possums who really don’t know how to take a hint. Her debut novel Dark Child, a new-age paranormal fantasy, is being released as a serialised e-novel by Pan Macmillan’s Momentum books starting February 2013. It’s an eclectic mix of ancient cultures, modern cities, tarot, lunar astrology, suspense and romance, and she loves that writing it made watching Vampire Diaries necessary research.

 

This week

I feel like this week I don't know we're the week has gone, I think I blinked and missed it. This week I've had a read 4review to do for goodreads, Dark Child by Adina West, look out for my review later. I'm currently sat in an adventure play centre with my youngest child.

So I have just started reading Quinn Loftis's new book Call Me Crazy, I'm so excited to read this, this is a totally different genre of book to what Quinn usually writes so watch out for my review. As I said in my last blog I will also be reading Sylvia Day's Entwined with You, and my review of until I break by Michelle Leighton.
