Synopsis
Behind every beautiful thing, there is some kind of pain...

Always overlooked. Always just there. That's what Dillon was to me.

Until one night.

In one night she flipped my world on its axis and there's no going back. But she has secrets, and secrets fester like an open wound. They color the past and forecast the future, but I'm determined to open her up; free her from her memories so she can live in the light and have the life she deserves.

It's just too bad that she wants nothing to do with me. But I'm nothing if not persistent and I'm not a man that gives up without a fight. I've had a taste and there's no walking away.

I just have to convince her that I'm not what she fears, I'm what she wants

“Still fucked up with Dillon, huh?” Wild took a long sip from his bottle.
“Fuck off,” I gritted as I sunk the last ball in the pocket. “I won, pay up, you cheap cocksucker.” I held a hand out. Wild quirked his lips in a shit-eating grin and slapped a twenty in my palm.
“You lost, why the fuck you look so happy?”
“Something about you being all bitchy over a girl tickles my funny bone.” He stood and gathered the balls on the pool table for another game. “So, what’d she do?” he asked as he lined up the first shot.
“It’s not what she did, I don’t think…” I gnawed the problem over in my head. “I took her to LUST.” I said the last word under my breath.
“Well, shit.” His ball went off kilter with his shot. He stood and rested both wrists on his pool cue. “Didn’t take it well then, I assume?”
“Guess not. I'm at a loss. I went to her place in the hopes of making some grand gesture and she shut down.”
“Yeah, Dillon isn’t one for grand gestures.”
“Little late for that head's up.” I bent and aimed for a solid.
“You want her back?” he asked with interest.
“Problem is, I never had her. She said we were just fucking around.”
“Well, I coulda told you that too.” He grinned and took another sip from his bottle.
“You're a wealth of information in hindsight, aren’t you?”
He shrugged with a chuckle. “Play hard to get.”
“I don’t do games, brother. You know that.”
“Also probably why you’re thirty-two and still single.” His blue eyes glinted with amusement.
“You’re such a fucker.”
“Seriously. Dillon is more man than woman. Play to her baser instincts. Let her see you with someone else, the territorial bitch will come out to play. She’ll be all up on your dick.”
“Really? That feels…”
“Dishonest? It is, but means to an end, ya know?”
“I was going to say like a bitch move, but dishonest too.”
“Bitch move or not, man, I bet you it works.” He shrugged and lined up his shot after I missed my second ball.
“So what? Ask someone out on a date and bring her here? I hate this already.” I ran a hand through my hair when I missed another ball.
“Jesus. She has you acting like a chick. You usually smoke me.” He frowned at the pool table. “Gonna have to call Ridge if I want to play a decent game.” He rubbed at the scruff along his jaw.
“Fuck off.” I took another shot, added extra power and sunk it with a thunk.
“Ha, see, I just played you. You think I’d ever call my brother for a game of pool?”
“Okay…” I pointed at him as realization dawned. “You’re an epic asshole, and I get your point. And I thought you and Ridge were better?” I'd heard rumblings of Ridge sleeping with Mia, Wild's one-time fiancĂ©, but as far as I knew Wild and Ridge had worked it out, as best as something like that could be worked out, I guessed.
“We are, we are. But still, ten foot pole, ya know?” He shrugged and I saw their history swirl in his ice blue eyes. He and his brother had been through a lot, some good, mostly bad. All not my business.
“So, play games, huh?”
“Yep.”
“Like a bitch?”
“Exactly.” Wild stood from his barstool. “And you sunk my ball, fucker, pay up.” He held his hand out.
“What? I was distracted.”
“By a chick. No excuse. I want my twenty back.”
“Jesus, no wonder your bother said you were a douche.”
His laugh boomed through the small pool room as I shoved the twenty back in his palm. He took a long swig of his beer and winked.
“I don’t know why the fuck I even talk to you.”
“Because I’m a wealth of information.”

“In hindsight.”

My Review
If you haven't read this series by Adriane Leigh. You don't know what your missing. Although you can read this as a stand alone, I do think you should read from the beginning. If you love hot, alpha males then you are going to love this series. And let me tell you Slade is one hot Alpha male.

I love everything about this series and the way Adriane writes. She writes so effortlessly and enthralling that once you start reading it, its like you lose the world around you and don't surface until you have finished the book. It's like being Sleeping beauty and awakening from a deep sleep.

I love the characters in this book. I love Slade, I love the way he is with Dillon never pushing to hard, aware all of the time of her limits and everything. Dillon is a character you can relate to, she a girl we all recognise our self in and that's why I love this series. The characters Adriane writes about are real and character we either recognise our selves in or someone we know.

I do think you need to add this to your to be read file.

This book gets 5/5 stars

Excerpt
Prelude

TEN YEARS AGO I fell in love with a boy. All it took was one sideways grin with his perfectly dimpled cheek for me to know I was a goner. My days and nights were consumed by him—if not physically, he was there mentally—always on my mind. I loved him with everything within me. The love we shared was the kind I thought would stand the test of time.

Everyone says your first true love isn't in fact true, but more of a fling. That epic love comes from enduring every facet of life with that person. Rather it be happiness, sadness, loss, gain—you can't truly love someone until it's been tested.

The one day in a blink of an eye, the boy I loved was ripped from me. My overly religious parents didn't like their daughter falling in love so young. It was simply unacceptable to them when I was supposed to focus on God, school, my future and nothing else.

He was my future and when they ripped my future away, I rebelled. I was barely showing by time graduation rolled around. Thank God, because I would have surely been an outcast at my new school. Not to mention what would have happened if my parents would have found out. There was no way I was letting them get their hands on the last thing I had of the boy I loved.

Eighteen, pregnant and sitting at the bus station, I found a friend. One that took me under his wing and I grew to love. It was then I realized the different types of love. He was everything I needed when I had nothing. I love him for the life he has brought me when every option I had was filled with uncertainty. I will forever be in his debt.

Ten years later, I ran into the boy I had loved, yet he's no longer a boy. He's a man. A deeply wounded man. Even though the flesh on his outside is still fully intact, nothing compares to the scars and pain he's carried around on the inside for so long.

Ten years later and I still have the same feelings for him...but they seem so much more intense. Was my first love my one true love? Now that he’s reappeared in my life, my thoughts are consumed by him. But, now they are paralleled with guilt. I love two men, but I love them differently. And, as of right now, I only know one for sure loves me back.

I’m caught between what’s wrong and what’s right…what’s fair and what’s unjust. I know what my heart wants, but is what it wants, what’s right? Feelings can cloud moral judgment. I don’t want what I feel to take over what I know to be right. But, I’m having a hard time sorting out the differences. I’m walking an emotion packed tight rope, and I know I’m going to fall. I’m just unsure who’s going to catch me.

Release Day Blitz - Two Roads (Gypsy Brothers) By Lili Saint Germain

Blurb
The sixth book in the #1 iBooks bestselling Gypsy Brothers series.
Juliette and Jase may be out of Dornan's immediate reach, but as tensions rise, will they end up walking right into the enemy's trap?
Can Juliette forgive Jase for his devastating betrayal, or will it destroy everything they've been fighting for?

Excerpt:  Two Roads
He killed my father. I’m having his baby.
He killed my father. I’m having his baby.
Those two sentences are on repeat in my head, the agony of the rolling waves almost too much for me to bear.
And the agony of my nausea slams into me again with the violent rock of the waves that carry us to safer shores. I think. I hope.
But really, how safe am I? I’m suddenly questioning everything, stuck in a vortex of swirling paranoia and doubt. Is Jase on Dornan’s side? He killed my father. He didn’t even try to deny it.
I can’t believe it, I can’t accept it, and I just wish I could think straight for five fucking minutes. I wish I didn’t feel like this. I’ve left one prison, the one Dornan constructed for me, only to be trapped in one of my own making. The one in my mind that goes over and over and over again.
I’m curled as tight as I can get into a ball on a bed in the main cabin of the boat. We must be going pretty fast, or be in some crazy swell, because I swear if the boat tilted a little more, it’d capsize.
The door is closed. I made Elliot promise he wouldn’t let Jase come in here. I’m going to have to face him eventually, but I just can’t face him now. I don’t want to hear his excuses, if he even has any. He killed my father.
I’ve never been afraid of drowning before, but right now, I’m terrified. Drowning in this ship. Drowning in lies and in blood. Drowning in my own treacherous deceit. For so long, I’ve had only one goal – to destroy Dornan. I was too busy focusing on his suffering to notice or care about my own, and now, I feel so damned broken. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to feel normal again.
In fact, come to think of it, I don’t even know what normal is.
I jump as a warm hand touches my shoulder.
“Hey,” a low voice murmurs beside me.
I turn over to see Elliot lying beside me, his pose mirroring mine. I can see water lashing against the small round window that looks out to the cruel sea we travel within.
“You’re shaking,” Elliot says, frowning as he reaches out a hand to me. Without thinking, I shrink back, an automatic response after three months of Dornan’s psychotic hands being the only ones to reach for me. Elliot’s face crumples into something resembling sadness—despair—as he reaches out to me again, slower this time, and pushes my lank hair back from my face.
Am I even here? I’m not sure. This could all be a dream. An elaborate, drug-induced hallucination. The thought makes me reel. Am I out? Or am I still in the basement? Is Elliot in front of me, or is it Dornan?
I scramble away from Elliot, clambering off the bed and backing up to the far end of the tiny room. Behind me, waves pound violently into the thick glass porthole, the only thing separating us from the deadly currents beyond. The movement of the waves catches my attention and I turn, mesmerized, as I press a trembling palm up to the freezing cold glass.
Am I here? Am I alive?
A nudge in my stomach, nothing more than a flutter really, propels me back to sanity.
Yes. I am here. I am here, while Elliot hovers behind me, and Jase and Luis are somewhere beyond the door that keeps me safe in this room.
And I am carrying a baby inside me. A baby that should never have existed.
And I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a terrible thing.

My Review

This is one of the series that when it ends I am going to miss. If you haven't read any of this series you need to. From the beginning. It is that good you seriously don't want to miss it.

I read this book in an hour. And I am still sat here thinking about it. I don't know how I can tell you anything about this without spoiling anything. And you know I don't do spoilers. I am struggling to put into words what I thought of Two Roads, I think Outstanding, exceptional, enthralling are too tame words to describe it.

Just when you think this book is not going to give you a heart attack reading or anxiety while you turn the page. Just when you think this book isn't going to surprise you Lili St Germain turns you upside down, inside out and turns you rounds that fast you think you will pass out.

This book/series has the right amount of angst, heartache, violence, OMG moments there is nothing in it that you can honestly say you didn't like. Because you WILL LIKE EVERYTHING. I honestly cant pick one person, thing or scene that is my favourite.

Lili has an exceptional talent in the way she writes. It is flawless. Enthralling. Stunning. Amazing. This plays out in your mind like a movie. And these are the best kind of books. The ones that you see in HD, Dolby surround sound. The one you sit on the edge of your seat while watching through your fingers. The one that when it ends you remember that you have forgot to breath the whole way through, and when you do release that much needed oxygen into your lungs, they burn from the agony of not doing it for so long. And all you can say like a mantra is SERIOUSLY, WTF, OMG. This is the movie you DONT forget days, months after and even then you think WTF, SERIOUSLY.

Lili, what can I say apart from WTF, SERIOUSLY!!!!!! YOU. ARE. KILLING. ME.
