Title:   Fix You
Author:  Beck Anderson
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Adult (Pg-13 on the steam and language)
Publication Date:  September 17, 2013
Publisher:  Omnific Publishing
Event organized by: Literati Author Services, Inc.

Synopsis

When Kelly Reynolds’s husband died, he left her—the awkward, cautious one—to raise their two young boys. She’s pieced herself back together, barely. Now she takes refuge in her routine: running her kids around and running the trails near her Idaho home.

Two years after her husband’s death, a chance encounter on a run brings Andrew into her life. But Andrew is Andy Pettigrew, the Andy Pettigrew, famous actor. Kelly hates risk, and a love affair with Andrew is certainly tempting fate. She doesn’t fit into his Hollywood world. She doesn’t own a pair of Louboutins, and she couldn’t walk five paces in them if she did. Andrew oozes cool. She reeks of dork.

But despite this, they click. It may be inexplicable, but it works. However, it’s also becoming clear that Andrew struggles with the pressures of his fame. Kelly’s hold on a so-called normal life is already tenuous, and as much as she might want to indulge the fantasy, she doesn’t know how either of them is supposed to cope with stalkerazzi and tweet-happy fans with camera phones. She and Andrew both have secrets that seem impossible to keep.

Beck Anderson’s witty, engaging writing yields an emotional tale of love, loss, and all the little things that make up a life. In the end, what is it that really holds us together? Kelly must decide if love can fix two people who might be broken beyond repair.

My Review

I received an arc copy of this book.

Kelly loses her husband to cancer, and is left looking after two young boys. Two years on she is still trying to come to terms with his death. While on a run she has another moment, and bursts out crying in front of a coffee shop. A stranger comes to her rescue and offers her his tea and his jacket. The Stranger then gets a call on his phone and runs off down the street.

The next day Kelly heads back to the coffee shop at the same time to return his jacket, but he's not there. When she gets back home he's there waiting for her. Kelly finds out its Andrew Pettigrew a famous actor. They both have demons to face, but will they face the demons or face a life without each other?

I love this. Got to tell you girls I cried right at the beginning it was so sad. It was heart pulling. Beck does a fantastic job of grabbing you and pulling you in. This story was so real, it happens to a lot of people(minus the famous actor) . I could total relate to Kelly, I love her character. Andrew I loved as well the way he was with Kelly from the start. I loved everything about this book. You need to read this.

I would give this 5/5 stars.

About the Author

Beck Anderson believes in the power of perfectly imperfect women and in the healing power of love. Her new novel, Fix You, grew out of those beliefs and the time to write afforded by the worst Thanksgiving blizzard she’s ever witnessed in West Yellowstone.

For Beck, the path to published novelist has taken lots of twists and turns, including a degree in anthropology, a stint as a ticket seller at a ski resort, a much-loved career as a high school English teacher, and a long tenure as a member of the best writing group ever, hands down.

Beck balances (clumsily at best) writing novels and screenplays, working full-time as an educator, mothering two pre-teen males, loving one post-40 husband, and making time to walk the foothills of Boise, Idaho, with Stefano DiMera Delfino Anderson, the suavest Chihuahua north of the border.

Book Blitz Jump Zone By Wylie Snow

Jump Zone: Cleo Falls by Wylie Snow
(Jump Zone #1 )
Publication date: September 9th 2013
Genres: Dystopia, New Adult

Synopsis:
All Cleo wants, all she’s ever wanted, is the acceptance of her tribe and the love of her family... and she almost dies trying to earn it. But the man who saved her, who found beauty in her flaws and loved her without condition, has cruelly betrayed her, and she’s dying all over again.

Was it all lies? His words, his promises, his kisses? Lost in unfamiliar territory, Cleo will fight the forces that conspire to destroy her homeland, even if she has to do it alone.

Libra longs for freedom—from prison, from pretense, and from his birthright... but he’s caught in a political game where only greed and power can win, and Cleo Rush is the pawn. How much is he willing to sacrifice for liberty? His morals, his principles, the woman he loves? No matter which path he chooses, people will die, their blood on his hands. And it could be hers.

To save themselves and their world, Cleo and Libra must overcome the double tragedy that binds their families in hatred. Together, they might live. Apart, Cleo will fall.

Excerpt:

Taiga Forest
I’d always presumed the moments before death would be fuzzy and warm.
They’re not. Death is painful. And cold.
Death is terrifying.
For me, there are no sepia vignettes of my childhood, no sign of my mother’s smiling face to usher me into a blissful afterlife, open armed. There’s nothing to distract me from the fright that slams me every time my mouth fills, every time my head slips under.
No matter how hard I kick or thrash, the current is merciless, dragging me downriver, closer to the edge, closer to the—
I can’t even think the word.
I claw for the surface, flailing desperately for something to grab onto. But there’s nothing. Not a rock, not a log, not even a stray root. Even if by some miracle I don’t drown, there is nothing to save me from the fall.
Seventy feet, straight down.
And the rocks at the bottom… I’ll be smashed.
My chest burns so bad, I want to scream from it. Can’t, don’t dare. I bite down on the inside of my lips to seal them from another mouthful of icy water and taste the copper of my blood. I will my legs to get me to the surface for another breath, but I’m tumbling through the blackness, not sure which way is up.
The rapids twist and toss me, pull me fast and hard as if they’re doing me a favor in getting me to the edge quickly. It’ll be over soon. Yet every agonizing second feels never-ending.
The more my muscles ache from cold, the heavier my limbs become, the slower time goes. Death is a cruel bitch.
My lungs are on fire. And no matter that my eyeballs feel like they’ve been dunked in acid, panic won’t let me close them.
There’s a legend amongst my people of a Ghost Warrior, a survivalist from Old Canada who lost his life in the Polar Wars. They say he guides folks home in their time of need, gives them a second chance. Where is this phantom rescuer for me? Am I not worthy?
I already know the answer…
The pressure in my chest begins to crack me open. I acknowledge my fate, look it in the eye, welcome it. The thought frees me. The simple act of mental acquiescence releases my fear, replaces it with regret. And anger. I’ll never get a chance to make amends to my tribe, to Jaegar or my father, never feel the love I’ve tried so hard, so damned hard, to earn.
Anger fuels my strength, gives me a final burst of energy. My anaesthetized legs push off of something solid. My head breaches the surface.
I scream in Death’s face.
Then water fills me, douses my fire. I am numb, unable to feel my extremities, unable to feel anything. Like a piece of flotsam, the current tosses me over the precipice toward the jagged rocks below. My world goes dark.

About the Author
Almost every author says they wanted to write from a very early age. Not me. I wanted to be a detective like Nancy Drew, or a wildlife expert like Jim Fowler or an archaeologist like Indiana Jones. Or have my own island resort and make fantasies come true!

I didn't do too badly with any of those...
I married a detective, worked in a zoo, explored ship wrecks instead of old ruins, and spent 18 glorious years living on a sunny island.

As for those fantasies...
I also write erotic romance as Wylie Kinson.
Happy reading!

Title: TEMPORARY BLISS (Bliss # 1, New Erotic Romance Series)
Author: BJ Harvey
Published: August 29th
Add to Goodreads:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17670591-temporary-bliss

Synopsis:

Makenna Lewis cringes at any mention of the word commitment. She doesn’t want or need a relationship, but she does like sex (who doesn't).

That explains Noah, Sean, and Zander, her three 'friends with benefits'.

They know the score, they know they're not the only one, and each of them provide her with a different physical need that she craves and enjoys.

Until a late night encounter with the delicious Daniel Winters turns her preconceived notion of no-commitment completely on its head.

Soon she finds herself feeling things she vowed never to feel again, and when Daniel pushes for more than she’s willing to give, she falters.

What do you do when something that you’ve known to be so wrong in the past feels so damn right?

If you’re Mac, you run and hide.

But is Daniel the type of man who takes no for an answer?

Excerpt

“Kate, it’s Mac. I need a ticket home, today,” I spit out, my voice still shaky from spending the last hour crying.

“About freaking time, babe. Pack your stuff, go to the airport, and I’ll see you soon.”

“Kate?”

“Yeah, babe?”

“I love you.”

“I love you too, Mac. I’m so glad you’re coming home. Everything is going to be okay.”

I grab whatever I can and stuff it into the two suitcases I have in the closet. I check that I’ve got only what I need, then carry the bags to the front door. I take my key off my key ring and place it on the kitchen counter. I take one last look around the empty room that has been my home for the past six months. Scratch that, I can’t even say it’s been a home. A home is full of love, and warmth, and for the past five months it’s been full of lies, deceit and if I’m going to be honest, fear.

“Goodbye, Beau Gregory,” I whisper as I click the lock and pull the door closed behind me.

Walking away from this life, I make a vow to myself; never again will my life be dictated by a man, and never again will I let love lead me astray.

But as I’ll soon find out not four years later, vows are made to be broken.

My Review

I received an Arc Copy of Temporary Bliss

Makenna Lewis is broken, has split with boyfriend Beau and heads back to the city of Chicago  to her best friend Kate.

Four years on Makenna or Mac has one rule no commitment. This is why she has 3 friends with benefits Zander, Sean and Noah. Each gives her something different and knows her rules.

Until she meets Daniel Winters who turns her world upside down.

Ok you know I don't do spoilers. And this one is no different. I am frightened to say too much in case I give too much away.

This book had me at the synopsis and Book Trailer. I couldn't wait to read it. I wasn't disappointed. The only thing I am going to say/warn about with this book is this:

1 - Find a room with a lock.
2 - Go inside said room lock the door and put a Do Not Disturb sign on door.
3 - Be prepared to forego normal life as you know it till its read.

I LOVED this book. I loved everything about it. This is the kind of book that pulls you in and tugs on your emotions. I wanted to cry, scream and shout at times. I was 34% in and needed to find a room or cave to hide away till I came out-I was beginning to sound like a growly bear.

Everything about this book is right. there wasn't one bit of this book that was wrong. I loved Makenna. I could relate to her in so many ways. I loved her best friend Kate with her no nonsense attitude. But I love most of all Daniel Winters - Ladies we have a new book boyfriend in the building in the form of Daniel Winters.

This review may seem cryptic but once you read it you will know why. I Literally cant say too much with out giving anything away. If you don't buy this book you are missing out BIG time.

This book gets 5/5 stars and 5/5 for movie moments.
