Short Reviews

I just wanted explain my short reviews that I sometimes do. It's not that I don't have lots to write about I do. Its just That I think that the more I say the more I will give the story away.  I like reading a book and just knowing enough about it. If I know the whole story it takes away from the enjoyment of discovering those special parts. So if your an author and I've given a short review, please don't take it as I  have not much to say.  I do it's just I want other readers to get to those parts on there own without knowing what is coming. A bit like seeing a cake you've not eaten before but knowing what it tastes like.

The Upside of Letting Go By Nacole Stayton

Synopsis

Haley Martin decides the only way to let go of her lingering nightmares is to literally move on. Taking a leap of faith she finds herself enrolling at a campus hundreds of miles away from home.

She leaves any thoughts of dating again in Jersey, that is until fate crosses her path with a blue-eyed stud named Kyler King. He is notoriously known for being emotionally unattainable, but his façade is only to hide the burdens he bares every day.

As Kyler and Haley’s physical attraction becomes deeper, the secrets of the past threaten to surface. When Haley’s past collides with the present, will her secrets prove too big of an obstacle hindering their happily ever after, or will letting go be the key that locks their bond forever?

My Review

Debut Book

Wow what can I say about this awesome book.

This is a Debut book by Nacole Stayton and what a book.  Be warned this book will invoke every emotion possible that you have. You have been warned.

Haley Martin gets up and moves away from her home town to a different city, different life and different school. Its here that she meets Kyler King and EVERYBODY warns her about him, BUT Kyler king falls head over heels for Haley. When they start to trust each other and tell each other their secrets, fate steps in and knocks these two down again. I would love to go more into depth..... BUT I CAN'T, it would ruin it.

I read this book from start to finish in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. I cried in parts of this book because I could relate to a certain part( sorry I still can't say) and that made me cry even more. I went through the roller-coaster of emotions with them and then some. I was emotionally drained at the end of this book, I just sat.....

I loved this book. The cover doesn't do it justice, I have learnt a valuable lesson over the last 6 months - not to judge a book by its cover and I am so glad I did.
I loved the characters, pace and flow of it. The only thing I didn't like was that it finished.....

My advice to anyone reading this book is this-

Make sure you are in the room on your own, you wont want to be disturbed.
Make sure you don't have places/people to see, you wont want to be disturbed.
Make sure you don't have a natural disaster waiting to happen, your not going to move.

I am giving this book 5/5 stars and 5/5 movie moments.

Blood Roses by Jason T Graves

Ok guys I know I have posted this review before but im reposting it. I actually met Jason and his lovely wife yesterday- what an amazing couple. If there is a Vampire book you need to read its this one. The second one in the series is due to be published around September so if you check back I will be posting a review on Morning Stars( I CANT wait to read) with the release date and purchase links

Synopsis
Vampires aren’t real… right? If they were, Madeline and Marissa Owen would certainly be suspects: bone-white and night-loving—with a proclivity for super-rare steaks—the identical twins are poster-girls for the undead.

As if looking like teen-aged vampires didn’t cause enough drama, trouble erupts into their lives following a disastrous street fight and a brush with the law by Madeline's sister. The girls are forced to move from the diverse city of Austin, Texas to the quaint township of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania—a move clearly designed to bore the aggressive, MMA-fighter Marissa into an early grave.
However, their new lives prove to be anything but boring, as a series of shocking upheavals, unearthed lies, and outright dangers keep them thinking... and running for their lives. Ancient books, coded manuscripts, and evil enemies emerge, challenging the unique skills and inner-strengths of the girls—but can even all of this chaos prepare them for the arrival of real vampires?

Facing threats from multiple quarters, the girls must rely on each other to keep ahead of the rising storm … or be swept away by it

My review
This book had me from the synopsis, I was very intrigued my first thought was oh well Marissa and Madeline are definitely vampires. But as soon as I started the book I thought I was wrong in thinking it. It was not overly obvious that they were, it had me guessing about everyone right the way through, even Cas had me guessing.

We meet Madeline and Marissa on a road trip to their new home after Marissa gets into a fight in which she is injured. Her family moves far away after her dad takes another job for Wilhelm.  Once they get to their new home they are invited over for dinner by Wilhelm. While they are there Wilhelm gives the girls two books!!!! That's when things happen. I really, really don't want to say any more about this book for fear of spoiling any part of it. The only thing I will say is this GO AND BUY IT. It is amazing. So different to any Vampire books I have read before. I love the science side of it. It kept me guessing the whole way through.

I loved everything about this book the pace, the flow. I loved the snippets of explanations to the past, all the information from the girls reading the book. I loved all the Characters M and M, Maelcom- I loved him, Adrian, Saturnus. I was not sure about Marlena- the jury is still out on that one. I loved the cover. This is the second book Jason has written.

The only thing im going to say about this book is READ IT- IT WONT DISAPPOINT. I cant wait to read morning star.

I am giving this 5/5 stars and 3/5 movie moments.

My Review

You know when you read a Tiffany King book its going to be great and this new one of Tiffany's didn't disappoint

The story is about Ashton who has a great job at the local supermarket and is good friends with the boss. She has two great girlfriends. She lives on her own in a small town she not so long moved to and she has a plan as well as secrets. Ashton decides one night in a bar she wants to have a one night stand. In walks a stranger who is hot and on his own.

Nathan Lockton is on business, and also has secrets. He finds Ashton hot but knows he shouldn't. After Ashton drunkenly hits on Nathan there story begins......

I was soooo excited to read this book and felt like I had waited forever for it to come out. I have read all of Tiffany kings book and I am a huge fan, but my review is an honest opinion taken in the credit it deserves.

This book had me hooked from the start. I loved Ashton Character and the relationship she has with her boss and girlfriends. I was intrigued to know what secrets Ashton held, especially when Nathan came on the scene. I was WAY off base as to what both there secrets were. It is proof of Tiffany's great writing skills to keep you guessing. I cried so much at this book I had to put it down and come back to it after a few hours. That is as much as I can tell you without spoiling it.

So this is what I am going to say.  GO and Buy it. And when you buy it you will also need to buy some tissues as this book will pull every emotion from you.

Tiffany another awesomely, fantastic, amazing read.  The only thing I didn't like was that it finished.

I am giving this 5/5 stars and 5/5 movie moments.

High school, prom and a chance to move on with her life now await her.

But will she be able to forget the horrors that steal her sleep away at night? … and the feelings that haunt her for that tormented prince of darkness?

My review - Contains mild Spoilers
OMG that was amazing. The danger of a second book is the story has been dragged out and the whole thing could of made one book, its not as good as the first one. This is not the case with this one. It has been glued in my hands all day, I've not been able to put it down. It was compelling from start to finish. Not at any point did it feel like it was rushed or it was dragging on.

It started were the first book left of with Sofia having left Derek(why I don't know cos the mans a hottie)and her reaction to having left the shade and trying to be Normal and trying to deny her true feelings toward Derek. She tries to have a relationship with Ben, who starts to get on my nerves slightly although I get why he's like that. I love Vivienne and hope she makes it out. I was so excited that Sofia went back the shade and the progression of hers and Derek's relationship.

I cant believe that Ben did go off to the hunters and OMG Aiden Claremont really - that was a shocker didn't see that coming, I'm just wondering were uncle Lyle fits in with all this if any.

The whole pace of the book is natural and right, the story fits in all the right places. I cant wait to see what the Maslens are about, and OMG seriously Sofia's mum- NEVER expected that....

I loved this book from start to finish( no its not finished just this book.) I am so glad there's a book 3 because I think you wouldn't of been able to fit everything in to two books.

There are so many movie moments( the bit in a film were the suspense gets too much and you either have to pause and go for a walk or turn it off and come back to it)this book had plenty of those only I couldn't walk away.

What I don't like about this book is ... that I now have to wait for the next book ... seriously how longs that going to take. Patience isn't my virtue.

This book gets 5/5 Stars and 5/5 for movie moments.

Debut Book - A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest

Synopsis

On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.

A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.

She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.
An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. She wakes here as a slave, a captive in chains.

Sofia's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.

Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.

Will she succeed? ...or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks.

My Review
I am a big fan of vampire books. And the one thing I usually like is that no matter the author the vampires stories are roughly all the same, with the way the vampires act,  not with this one.

I was hooked from the first page and read in one sitting, couldn't put it down, I sat in bed in the dark reading and was gutted when I got to the end. So I had to download the next one- its been a long night.

I loved Sofia and Derek's Story.
I loved the difference from other vampire stories, the way they were Abducting the humans and taking them to the Shade. I hated Lucas. and don't think I'll like Derek's father although I've not read about him yet just little remarks. From the start I couldn't predict where the story would go - it wasn't obvious.

I think the pace was just right. The descriptions were really good I could imagine the scenes and settings everything was vivid. There was a few movie moments in there for me( were the pace gets a bit too much and you have to go for a walk or three, or you just look at the book thinking the suspense is going to kill you)

I loved Vivienne and Cora. I loved the instant attraction between Sofia and Derek even if its taking her a while to realise. I'm not going to give any spoilers it will ruin it. I love that this book gave both points of view.

If you like vampires you need to read this, but stick a DO NOT DISTURB SIGN ON THE DOOR.

Debut Book

This is a debut book by Bella Forrest and what a Debut book to come out with. I think sometimes the danger of a first time author is it will go unnoticed and sets president for the following books. This not the case with Bella's first book. Its sets itself out from all the other vampire books and gives the reader a different angle. I LOVED this debut book. I am now a big fan of Bella's Books. Thank you Bella for giving us an amazing read.
