Review
This is the Book I have been waiting for to come out. I was SO excited to have the opportunity to read and review it. The Book is AMAZING.
If you have not read the first book in the series, Songbird, it is a must that you read that first.
This book picks up where songbird left off. And OMG let me tell you you are in for one hell of a ride. It had me on the edge of my seat.
*** THIS IS YOUR WARNING, THIS BOOK IS EASILY 5/5 FOR MOVIE MOMENTS SO PACK UP YOUR STUFF AND HEAD INTO THE LOCKABLE ROOM. THIS IS HOURS YOU WILL NOT BE AFRAID OF LOSING****
Before I started Songbird Caged I started Songbird again so I could get lost in the story again. I went straight into reading Songbird Caged and didn't come up for air once. Let me tell you it was a long night. Once my kids were in bed I was enthralled.
So what can I tell you so I don't ruin it...........
........Ok.....
So we know that Riley and Tara love each other and Tara has promised to wait for Riley as he goes off on a special ops mission. The consequences of that mission is catastrophic. And Tara is lucky she has all of her friends around her.
We know that from the beginning there has been a flirtatious pull between Tara and Cole. And things are about to become a whole lot more conflicting.
Ok that's as much as I am going to say.
This is a book I would read over and over again, Its that good. I am also going to purchase them in paperback to put into my new reading corner when its done.
I love everything about this book. The whole thing fits perfectly, the pace, the flow, The storyline, the characters.
So Characters I love all of them. I love Tara. I love seeing her change from the person she was to the person she become while going out with Riley.
Riley and Cole, well what can you say about them........Hot, Alpha, Sexy, need I say anymore. If I had to pick a favourite out of the two I seriously couldn't... Could you?
This book is written so amazingly I was an emotional wreck after reading it. It made me laugh, gasp, scream and cry - lots. When I finished I screamed. This book has stayed with me long after I have read it.
If there is only one book you can buy this month, it has to be this one.
I CAN NOT WAIT FOR SONGBIRD FREED.
Lisa, Thank you so much for this book. It is absolutely fantastic. Its compelling, stunning, exceptional, By far one of my favourite books.
This book gets 5/5 stars and 5/5 for movie moments.
Excerpt
“I’d like to take you out.”
I looked at Cole, slightly amused. “We go out all the time.”
“No, we go to your place, we come here. We go to the gym, for a run on the beach, or we go to Songbirds. We don’t go out.”
We were sitting on Cole’s couch in his apartment, looking at light fittings for Reds on the Internet.
He was wringing his hands. “Would you like to go out with me?” he asked.
I frowned. “What, like on a date?”
“If that’s what you want to call it. I don’t know, I’ve never been on a date. But if going out to dinner and then a club together is a date, then sure, let’s call it a date.”
I looked at him warily. “You do know I’m engaged, right? You haven’t forgotten?”
He shrugged. “In theory. But there’s no harm in letting me take you out. I mean, officially take you out—on a date.”
I had to think about this for a minute. Was it asking for trouble to let him believe we could actually date when I had made a commitment to Riley?
“You know, even if you pay for dinner, I’m not going to sleep with you,” I said with a smile.
“So what’s the point of paying for dinner, then?” he asked cheekily. He took hold of my hands in his. “I wouldn’t expect you to sleep with anyone on a first date. You’re not that kind of girl.”
I exhaled slowly, weighing up how to respond. “Okay, we can go out on three conditions.”
He nodded.
“Firstly, we need to have other people there, so maybe Marcus and Nicole can come with us.”
“Like a double date,” he said, teasingly.
I chuckled, and shook my head. “Secondly, you have to stop calling it a date.”
He grinned at me cheekily.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I awoke with a start.
My arm had gone to sleep from laying on it all night, and my face was squished into someone’s neck. It was Cole’s. I inhaled his warm cedar and musk scent. Even after sleeping on the couch all night, he smelt unbelievable.
Sitting up, I moved my head from side to side, trying to stretch out the kinks.
“Good morning, sleepy head. Did you just sniff me again?”
I looked down at Cole. He was grinning up at me as I rubbed my shoulders and numb arm.
“Good morning,” I replied with a groan, as I stretched my arms over my head. “You know I’m staying here so I don’t have to sleep on a couch. Kind of defeats the purpose, spending the night out here.”
He sat up and started rubbing my arm, trying to get the blood to flow back into it.
“I disagree. I’m sure I’m much more comfortable to lay on than your lumpy couch.” He moved his attention to my shoulders, and I sighed. “Besides, it’s not every day I have someone dribble all down my neck.”
I wiped my hand across my cheek. It was damp. Oh my God, I had dribbled in my sleep. I checked Cole’s neck and quickly wiped it dry.
“You should be used to it,” I said, trying to make light of the embarrassing situation. “You have girls drooling over you everywhere you go.”
He chuckled. “No one who matters.” He took my hand away from his now dry neck and held it. “Until now, that is.”
My Review
Debut Book
I loved this book. It was compelling and amazing. And I read it in one go. When I had finished reading it. I took a big sigh and said WOW. Even after I had read it. I was still thinking about it.
I can't wait for Songbird Caged.
Tara O'Connell leave her controlling, obsessive, possessive boyfriend Stephen and attempts to get back her life. Its hard as she's use to someone telling her what to talk about, what to wear.
I felt a bit raw reading this, as I knew to an extent on what Tara was going through as I was in a similar relationship before I met my husband.
She moves into a tiny flat which is her best friend Kellie's. Through Kellie's boyfriend Cooper she meets Riley Hammond. Both Cooper and Riley are in the special ops.
Riley is a sweet, hot, amazingly hot, did I say that already. Riley is the type of guy that every girl wants. The attraction between them is instant.
Then we have Cole, a playboy, musician, hot guy, and the attraction is instant.
Tara is committed to Riley and doesn't act on the connection with Cole. Then Riley gets posted abroad.
OMG, seriously, this book is one you have to read.
Usually when there is a love triangle you route for one guy. NOT so in this book. I was actually rooting for both!!!! I really don't know who I like more Cole or Riley.
This book pulls all the emotions out of you, I shouted and screamed and cried and laugh this book has it all.
For a Debut Book, Lisa Edwards has the natural talent of writing that seems like she has been writing for years.
Lisa, thank you for giving me the opportunity of review this book. It was compelling, beautifully written, An amazing story, Lisa gets everything so right about this book. Its Fantastic and you really need to read this.
This gets 5/5 stars and 3/5 for movie moments.
