Cover Reveal Outside the Lines By kimberley Kincaid

Synopsis

As an Ivy League ER doctor who eats double shifts for breakfast (and lunch…and dinner), Blake Fisher has little appetite for anything other than work. Being on the staff at Brenstville Hospital means taking care of people, a need Blake understands all too well from losing his brother to cystic fibrosis eight years ago. When he’s asked to coordinate a carnival fundraiser for the cause, he jumps at the chance to help others with the disease…until it lands him side by side with the one woman he never thought he’d see again: his ex-fiancée.

Streetwise and rough around the edges, Jules Shaw is no stranger to earning a living through hard work. But when her job as the restaurant manager of Mac’s Diner puts her shoulder to really broad shoulder with Blake Fisher, she nearly balks. She’d rather dodge and deflect than admit the real reason she broke things off, but the catering contract for the carnival means big business for Mac’s, and feeding people is Jules’s lifeblood.

As Blake and Jules join reluctant forces, they quickly rediscover the spark between them. But the possibility of a future together hinges on coming clean about the past, with potentially devastating consequences. Can Blake and Jules overcome their drastically different backgrounds and learn to love again, or will they always be outside the lines?

Author Bio

Several years ago, I picked up a last-minute handful of books at a yard sale before a summer trip to the beach. I ate the first one like candy, downing it in just over a day. In the back of the book, the author put her email address and said she loved to hear from her readers. What the heck, I thought, and typed a quick note to say how much I loved the book. She wrote me back personally, and I realized that writers are real people- just like me- and that if I put my heart into it, I could be one, too.
It was the moment I knew I had stories to tell. It was the moment I knew I was a writer.

Kimberley thanks for taking part in my author interview today

Tell us a bit about yourself?
I write foodie contemporary romance that splits the difference between sexy and sweet. I'm an avid home cook who never met a cheesecake she didn't like, and I'm also a wife and mom to three daughters.

What do you do when your not writing? Do you write full time?
Not gonna lie-- I write a LOT. I'm at my desk 6 days a week. But in my down time, aside from cooking (and eating!), I practice a lot of yoga, read ravenously, and spend time with my family. Also, I shop for shoes like it's a profession!

You have written a lot of books, What was your first book you wrote and what was the inspiration behind it?
This is kind of funny, because of the way production schedules work... my first release (Love On The Line) wasn't nearly my first book. Of all my books due to come out in the next year, #6 (Turn Up The Heat) was actually the first one written. I wrote the entire outline after hearing Matt Nathanson's song "Come On Get Higher" on the radio one night in my car. The whole story just popped into my head, and I pulled over and wrote half of it on my arm (I will never leave my notebook home again!) Then I came home, downloaded the album, played the song on a continuous loop, and wrote the first chapter.

Your latest book  Outside the lines is Due out, what is this book about?
It's the story of a sexy, serious ER doctor (Blake Fisher) and how he must work with his ex-fiancée (Jules Shaw, a diner manager) to coordinate a charity event that has lots of meaning for both of them, although for different reasons.

Is any part of the story based on your experiences?
Can you share them with us? All of my books are completely fictional, but I will say that I love this one because it's a second-chance love story. They're some of my favorites, because the couple has a past, and we get to see how they've changed for the better.

Who is your favourite character and why?
In Outside The Lines, I'd have to say that while I love both Blake and Jules, Aaron (Blake's cousin) kinda stole the show for me. Once you read the book, you'll see why! Hot, cocky firefighter who likes to jump out of airplanes... yes, please!

Who are you most like from the book?
There are parts of me in all the characters, even though everyone's very made-up. But I will say I love to feed people, like Jules. I come from a big family, and food is definitely love where I'm from!

Do you have a "thing" you do to get you into the zone while writing?
I need quiet. Like, no music, no conversations, no nothing, quiet. But once I sit down and get my hands on the keys, I'm good to go.

What's next for you ?
I'm working on Pine Mountain book #4 for Kensington books, as well as a few other ideas for stories. Let's just say firefighters aren't out of the question :)

What book are you reading now?
'm reading an ARC of Laura Kaye's Hard As It Gets. It's coming out in November. You're going to want to read it. Trust me!

Do you have a favourite  genre of book you like to read?
What's your favourite all-time book? I love all romance, as well as some mystery, thrillers, and literary fiction. My favorite book of all time is a close call, but it's either Louisa Edwards's Hot Under Pressure or Barbara O'Neal's The Lost Recipe For Happiness. Both amazing.

Did you read as a child? What was your favourite book?
Voraciously. I loved Nancy Drew and Judy Blume and really just about anything I could get my hands on. Still do!

Fun Questions

Favourite Colour?
Purple

Favourite TV show?
I don't watch a lot of TV (I know! I'm a weird one that way) but I am hooked on Chicago Fire

Paranormal or normal?
Paranormal!

Do you have a pet hate?
We only have fish, and they're pretty low maintenance. Can't complain!

Most embarrassing moment?
Haha, I'm sure there are lots. I've tripped, scorched food at dinner parties, tucked my skirt into my drawers... you have to laugh at that stuff, 'cause you'd cry your eyes out if you didn't :)

Favourite place?
Sounds simple, but home is my favorite place
